SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alliance Health Networks, the leading social networking company serving consumers and the healthcare industry, today announced it has hired data analytics expert and former CTO of Evri, Deep Dhillon, as its new chief data scientist.
In this role, Dhillon will lead the company’s efforts in analyzing and integrating massive amounts of health research aggregated by Medify, a leading provider of data-driven treatment information that was recently acquired by Alliance Health. Dhillon will also be responsible for the application of deep data analytics across Alliance Health’s social networks to provide community members the most recent and comprehensive health data available.

Dhillon has spent more than 15 years working in technology and analytics, and is a recognized expert in large scale distributed natural language processing. As a former CTO at Evri, Dhillon led the development efforts for a semantic content recommendation engine. In his role at Insightful Corporation (now Tibco) as the director of engineering, Dhillon led development efforts for InFact, a large-scale text analysis platform and search engine, and helped arrange the multi-million dollar sale of the technology. Prior to Insightful, Dhillon was a founder and chief scientist at music search and identification company Cantametrix, where he helped build the world's first large-scale, fully automated, digital signal processing based music identification and classification system, which is now used by Apple iTunes, Yahoo! Music Engine and others.

Dhillon received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.
