CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--Rugged storms call for unconventional equipment in handling wayward tree branches and fallen limbs. For the WORX® JawSawTM it’s just another day of chores. This electric-powered saw doesn’t look anything like a chain saw, but it’s equally effective. It cuts tree branches up to 4 in. in diameter and is much easier and safer to use than a chain saw, according to WORX. The tool was designed and engineered to improve chain saw safety.

Two of the most common fears in handling chain saws are an exposed high-speed chain and kickback. The JawSaw is unique because the jaw of the tool almost completely encloses the chain, guarding the operator from potential contact. The shark-like steel teeth that surround the jaw are designed to hold the wood in place while cutting.

The JawSaw provides for safer sawing of downed branches on the ground. Cutting wood on the ground with a chain saw oftentimes allows the chain to hit the ground, which can damage the chain and bar while increasing the risk of kickback. The JawSaw’s design prevents the chain from coming in contact with the ground, allowing you to cut downed limbs right where they fall.

This yard tool eliminates much of the bending and lifting of branches and brush clean-up. It does a tidy job of making yard piles in no time flat. It’s also eco-friendly and emission-free with minimal operating costs, compared to gas-powered saws.

The saw’s Auto-Tension feature is an easy-to-use chain replacement and tensioning system. There’s one bolt on the body that’s used to tighten and release the chain.

The JawSaw’s automatic oiler system with reservoir and oil level indicator affords easy refills. During operation, the automatic oiler provides constant lubrication to both bar and chain.

An optional 5 ft. extension pole snaps on to the tool enabling it to reach tree limbs up to 12 ft. from the ground.
