MIDLAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rollie B. Shook, Emergency Services & Security Associate Director for The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), has been presented with the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care member company Employee of the Year Award. Shook has served as a leader in emergency response and planning and security systems management.

Shook accepted the award in Hollywood, Fla. at the 21st Annual Responsible Care Conference & Expo, where member and partner companies and individuals were honored for their contributions to environment, health, safety and security in the chemical industry.

Shook is chair of the National TRANSCAER® Task Group, where he provides expertise on emergency planning and response on a global basis. Under his leadership, Dow has received the National TRANSCAER® Achievement award in 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008. Shook’s leadership and professionalism were also exemplified throughout the 2011 Japan tsunami and earthquake.
The Responsible Care Employee of the Year award is presented annually to one member and one Partner company employee for outstanding leadership.
