TAITRA: MTduo 2012 Buyers high mark Super Machines for giving the edge!

TAIPEI, Taiwan--()--The four-day MTduo 2012 meant many things to many people…. For many it offered a hub of innovation, for business it brought profitable one-on-one procurement meetings and networking seminars that opened the big picture.

MTduo this year was using for the first time a new venue of NANGANG Exhibition Hall that permitted record scale and size. It opened vast venue that joined 252 exhibitors who used 967 booths (37.5% up on the previous MTduo). They welcomed 10,445 international and domestic visitors, including 741 international buyers, an increase of 38.8% on the last MTduo.

Chief nations represented by buyer turn-out were China, Japan, Thailand, the USA and Malaysia.

This event that unfolded May 3rd to 6th organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), May 3rd to 6th.

The exhibitors this year included a long list of well-known international and domestic manufacturers, including Fair Friend, C-Double, DMG Mori Seiki, Ching Hung, Dah Lih, Kao Ming, Sun Firm, Rong Fu, PMI, Po Ly Gim, Wexten, Chain-Headway and Fongei. This year for the first time the Swiss Pavilion joined MTduo to exhibit their incredible series of high performance, advanced manufacturing equipment.

Taiwan's advanced, award winning machinery dazzles visitors

MTduo is the sister show of TIMTOS (Taipei International Machine Tool Show), which is held in alternating years. Both biannual trade shows join the breakthroughs of the Taiwan machinery and technology sector to platform to a world of buyers ever-eager for quality, efficiency and economy.

The twin shows often couple up strengths which this year saw MTduo showcasing the sophisticated and multifunctional machinery and equipment that won the TIMTOS 2011 Award for Excellence in Research and Innovation. These included the DMV2000 Traveling Column Vertical Machining Center with 5 Axes from Dah Lih, the U600 5-axis machining center from Fair Friend, and the winner of the 20th Taiwan Brands and the highly popular AP-6040 wire-cut EDM from Accutex.

204 trade meetings create millions in business opportunities

In addition to the intriguing products on display, the MTduo 2012 procurement meetings on May 4 offered buyers and vendors maximum convenience. It’s here where 35 Chinese buyers with annual turnover over US$50 million were invited to match their procurement needs in Taiwan by meeting with 82 Taiwanese tools and machinery suppliers. FAW Jilin Automobile, whose annual revenue exceeds US$1 billion, was a core participant at the talks. Another procurement meeting was attended by VIP buyers from Germany, Malaysia, and Ukraine. These two procurement times saw a total of 204 sessions which generated an estimated US$162.98 million in on-site and follow-up business.

According to first-time MTduo exhibitor Jason Lin, CEO of Rong Fu Industrial, many buyers from Southeast Asia, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, placed orders onsite and produced better than expected results.

Meanwhile, Tim Chang, the CEO of the machine processing equipment company Kao Ming Machinery Ind. stated that the aim at the show was to reach customers from different fields. Jung Li Huang, CEO of Le Cheng Machinery also felt the professional turn-out was much larger than at the previous show two years ago and praised the NANGANG Hall for being more suitable for displaying heavy machinery. He stated that Le Cheng received onsite orders from customers in Turkey. And nearby was Claudia Tsai, secretary to the CEO of DMG Mori Seiki, who said they have received a large number of buyers and praised the volume of business made at the show.
