AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CompassLearning is honored to empower teachers and students who work together to achieve academic success and personal growth. For this reason, as part of National Teacher Appreciation Month, CompassLearning is announcing a nation-wide promotion to honor a teacher and one of her/his students who is graduating this spring/summer. The teacher can apply for the promotion by writing a short essay nominating a student who, without the use of technology, might not have graduated high school. Students can nominate a teacher by submitting an essay describing how a teacher used educational technology tools to help him/her graduate high school on time.
CompassLearning plans to award a deserving student a $2,500 scholarship to use toward college and the teacher with round-trip airfare for two to anywhere in the continental U.S., courtesy of Orbitz. Along with airfare, CompassLearning will also award the teacher $1,000 to spend on the vacation.
The online contest begins May 8, 2012. Teachers and students can log on to their Facebook account, visit http://www.facebook.com/compasslearninginc, complete the application and tell their story. Essays will be accepted through midnight June 8, 2012. The winning nomination will award both the student and the teacher as a team.
