Tricorp Hearn Construction Expands Hospitality Portfolio with Design and Construction of 1,000 Hotel Rooms

RIVERSIDE, Calif.--()--Tricorp Hearn Construction, one of California’s leading hospitality general contractors is under way with construction and design of 1,000 hotel rooms throughout the state, and the company has just completed Hyatt Place Riverside/Downtown at Fox Plaza located in the heart of downtown Riverside. The $11 million ground up construction project is the first phase of a three-part development plan adjacent to the Riverside Convention Center. Tricorp Hearn, private developer, MetroRiverside LLC and RYS Architects worked in cooperation with the City of Riverside and Downtown Riverside Partnership to provide accommodations to support business travelers and entertainment activities to revitalize the downtown district.

This is the second of three Hyatt Place projects awarded to Tricorp Hearn, with one currently under construction in El Segundo and a two-phase project on the UC Davis campus. Hyatt Place Riverside/Downtown is a five-story, 85,000+ square foot hotel, with 125 guest rooms, wood framed construction on a concrete podium. The amenities include meeting rooms, a Café/bar, breakfast area, 24 hour food service, pool and fitness facility. The hotel will have positive fiscal impact enhancing downtown visibility and the local economy, creating permanent jobs.

Hospitality Projects Underway Across California

Tricorp Hearn has an extensive portfolio of major hotel brands across California, making the hospitality sector one of their most successful markets. Hyatt Place, UC Davis Campus Phase I & II

Tricorp Hearn was the general contractor on Phase I of the Hyatt Place UC Davis, utilizing a Public-Private-Partnership delivery method between UC Davis and the University Hospitality Group. This ground-up construction project is wood frame, four-story, 52,000 square feet consisting of pool, kitchen, meeting and conference rooms. The project was completed on time and within budget. Tricorp Hearn is now in a design-build contract for the Phase II 52-room expansion.

Hyatt Place, El Segundo

Tricorp Hearn has begun construction on a Hyatt Place hotel in El Segundo with OTO Development and Braun & Steidl Architects. This new, 83,000 SF, five-story wood framed, 142-room hotel features meeting rooms, pool, fitness room, outdoor dining patio and fireplace. This will be the first Hyatt Place in the Los Angeles area and is located in the heart of a dynamic business community, just south of LAX International Airport. This $11 million project is slated to be complete at the end of 2012.

Hampton Inn, San Luis Obispo

Tricorp Hearn has started construction on this San Luis Obispo project with eight completed Hampton Inn hotels in their portfolio including Hayward, Livermore, Milpitas, Fremont, West Sacramento, Yuba City, Fremont and Riverside. This ground-up construction of a 4-story, wood frame hotel with 84 rooms, pool, and fitness center was in partnership with SLO Lodging and PK Architects and is a $6 million project nearing completion.

Grandview Hotel, St. Helena

Another design/build contract underway this year for Tricorp Hearn is a 5-star, 57-room luxury hotel in St. Helena with Grandview Hotel Investors LLP, HR Group Architects and Gensler Interior Design Group. The historical renovation of the existing Acacia House will be the focal point of the development and will include 5 guest rooms, reception, a wine tasting area and restaurant. The spa facility and pool will be in separate buildings surrounded by the rest of the guest rooms.
