Kiewit Recognized as a Great Place to Work®

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--()--Today, for the second year in a row, Kiewit Corporation, one of the North America’s largest and most respected construction and mining organizations, is being recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada. This list, and related stories, appeared in a special national report released this morning.

For nearly 130 years, Kiewit’s rich culture has continued to instill a sense of pride in the company. Company culture, strong leadership and Kiewit’s unparalleled commitment to development and wellness programs, are only part of the reason that Kiewit made this year’s list of “Best Workplaces in Canada.”

“Our people are the reason we’re one of the best places to work,” said Michael Geary, executive vice president of Human Resources. “Achieving this honor is just one more acknowledgement – albeit a special one – of the type of workplace Kiewit continues to build and foster.”

Just as last year, two-thirds of the selection process was based on an employee survey, which makes this recognition especially rewarding for Kiewit and its employees.

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada, a global research and management consultancy with expertise on workplace transformation. The list provides insight relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

This year’s list received over 230 nominations and over 49,000 employees participated in the 2012 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
