Pisco Portón® Appoints Industry Veteran Jean-Francois Bonneté Chief Operating Officer

NEW YORK--()--Pisco Portón®, the flavorful and full-bodied ultra-premium white spirit from Peru, today announced the appointment of Jean-Francois Bonneté as Chief Operating Officer. The announcement was made by Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Brent Kallop.

“Jean-Francois has a long track record of successful brand-building within the premium spirits market,” says Mr. Kallop. “Pisco is still relatively unknown in most of the U.S. and we are confident that his industry credibility and proven success in developing categories will assist the brand in realizing its potential.”

A multinational wine and spirits executive with more than twelve years of experience in the U.S., Mr. Bonneté specializes in building iconic brands in new and developing categories. He comes to Portón from respected fine wine and spirits merchant W.J. Deutsch & Sons, a prestigious importer with a reputation for excellence. Mr. Bonneté created and built the spirits division at W.J. Deutsch and served as Vice President for three years, where he managed a portfolio that boasted the likes of Adult Chocolate Milk, Luksusowa Vodka and ORIGINAL MOONSHINE®.

Prior to W.J Deutsch & Sons, Mr. Bonneté was North American Director for Cognac Ferrand USA, a leader in production, marketing and exportation of French luxury spirits. He spent nearly ten years developing the cognac category through sales and distributor relations, coupled with the development and execution of marketing strategies for several brands. Most notable are Mr. Bonneté’s contribution to the launches of Pierre Ferrand Cognac, Citadelle Gin and Landy Cognac, a brand that was recognized as the fastest growing cognac in the U.S. and a recipient of a “Rising Star Growth Brand” award.

“I have watched Pisco Portón very carefully since its launch, noting the great care it has taken in creating the premium pisco category here in the U.S.,” says Mr. Bonneté. “I’m thrilled to join the team and play an integral role in building the brand’s future success.”

Mr. Bonneté is Chairman and Board Member of the French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) in Houston and Vice President of the US National Executive Committee of the FACC. He was knighted in 2011 as “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite Agricole” for its contribution to the French wine and spirits industry. He studied business at Harvard University as well as International Finance at New York University, and received his MBA from the leading French Business School, Institut Supérieur de Gestion.
