Streamline and TNS Deliver Faster Payment Processing for Merchants

SHEFFIELD, England--()--Streamline, Europe’s leading face to face card payment processor, is now providing merchants with faster payment processing thanks to secure, authenticated IP connectivity from Transaction Network Services (NYSE:TNS).

Streamline is using the TNS Secure SSL Gateway, an industry-leading solution for IP POS terminals, to provide resilient, authenticated payment exchange between card payment terminals and the Streamline processing platforms. The custom-designed solution offers additional security features beyond the minimum requirements mandated by PCI DSS, to provide a secure high-speed solution that enables Streamline’s merchants to benefit from faster payment processing, shorter queues and costs savings where dedicated dial lines can be removed.

Fintan Byrne, TNS’ Vice President and General Manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “The TNS Secure SSL Gateway has been built to meet the stringent security and availability requirements of customers such as Streamline and we are delighted to be appointed to deliver this service. It is a testament to our collaborative working relationship with Streamline, which allows us to work together to design and deliver innovative IP technology solutions that do more than just meet the minimum PCI DSS requirements.”

Matt Rowsell, Chief Commercial Officer at Streamline said: “TNS has been our partner for payments connectivity for our dial-up point of sale terminal estate, so we had no hesitation in using its industry-leading expertise to deliver an IP based solution. Security was our number one focus in migrating to IP technology and TNS was the only provider that demonstrated both a clear understanding of our needs and the capability to deliver.

“We constantly strive to deliver a first class service for our customers, and know that speed and resilience are of paramount importance. Our customers are delighted with the speed benefits the new IP terminals provide and Streamline can be confident in the security and resilience of the network architecture that underpins it.”
