DAYTON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amos L. Otis, founder, president and CEO of SoBran, Inc., Dayton, Ohio, was appointed a Director of the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, effective January 1, 2012.
Mr. Otis has deep roots in the Cincinnati region. SoBran, the company he founded over twenty years ago, received its first large contract from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. It set the foundation for what is now a growing $61 million revenue business employing approximately 900 people in seven states.

Mr. Otis established the SoBran/Scoman Educational Scholarship Endowment at Tennessee State University and the Brenda Faye Otis-Lee Educational Scholarship at the St. Jude Educational Institute in Montgomery, Alabama.
Mr. Otis has been appointed a Director of The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, one of 12 regional Reserve Banks that, along with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., comprise the Federal Reserve System. Each Reserve Bank's main office has a nine-member board of directors. Directors' responsibilities include making recommendations to the Board of Governors regarding the Federal Reserve's discount rate on primary credit; providing information about regional business conditions to their Federal Reserve Bank president; and overseeing the Bank's budget and finances.
