Frontier Launches Knoxville-Orlando Service

Airline’s low-fare, high-value, nonstop service takes off March 15

DENVER--()--Frontier Airlines’ new service between Knoxville, Tenn. (TYS) and Orlando, Fla. (MCO) takes off March 15, 2012, with three nonstop flights weekly. With the new flights, Frontier will serve two destinations nonstop from Knoxville and 10 destinations nonstop from Orlando. The flights will operate on 138-seat Airbus 319 aircraft – featuring leather seats, five rows of STRETCH seating with an additional 5 to 7 inches of legroom, and 24 channels of DirecTV®.

“Both business and leisure travelers will clearly benefit from Frontier’s low-fare, high-value service between Knoxville and Orlando,” said Robert Westgate, Frontier’s senior director of Planning and Scheduling. “We’re looking forward to meeting the continuing demand for nonstop service on this route.”

Introductory fares for the new route begin at $90* one way, including all fees and taxes. This low fare is available at FrontierAirlines.com through March 15, 2012, for travel through May 22, 2012. For just $25 more, customers can purchase Frontier’s Classic fare (available only at FrontierAirlines.com) and get two free checked bags, no itinerary change fee, free DirecTV and more.

Members of Frontier’s EarlyReturns® frequent flyer program can earn double miles** for every qualifying flight they take on the new route through April 30, 2012. Pre-registration is required. For details, visit FrontierAirlines.com/memberoffers.

“Frontier Airlines introduced lower fares to Denver and the West Coast when they arrived at McGhee Tyson Airport in June 2011,” said Howard Vogel, chairman of the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority’s Board of Directors. “They are expanding their low-fare presence with the launch of their new nonstop flights to our most popular destination – Orlando. Families planning trips for spring break and summer vacation have even more low-fare options with Frontier’s new direct flights into Orlando International Airport.”

Added Phil Brown, executive director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority: “Expanding service and markets is always welcomed news. Knoxville to Orlando is historically one of the most heavily traveled routes at Orlando International Airport. As a former resident of Knoxville, I’m sure I’m not alone in acknowledging the business and leisure importance of this new service from Frontier Airlines.”
