Travelers begin their journey in Tokyo, one of the world’s main economic centers and Japan’s modern capital, by checking into the Keio Plaza Hotel. The hotel is located in the Shinjuku ward, Tokyo’s popular shopping and entertainment district. From there, travelers set out on a Tokyo tour, exploring the main sites. Travelers will see the Tokyo Tower, modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris; the Meiji Shrine; the Akasaka Guest House; and the National Diet Building. Then they’ll stop at the East Garden of the Imperial Palace to see the magnificent gardens and view of the ancient castle walls and ruins. The tour of Tokyo finishes in Ginza, one of Tokyo’s most famous shopping, dining, and entertainment districts.

In addition, several optional excursions are available, including a walking tour of the Shinjuku ward to experience Japanese culture first-hand in the neighborhoods surrounding the hotel. Stop at Shinjuku Alta, a favorite hangout for locals; Manga Kissa Café to see Manga, Japanese comic books; and stop by an izakaya, a type of Japanese pub. For travelers looking for a little more adventure, a full-day optional tour take visitors to see the majestic Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Mt Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and home to one of the world’s most recognized volcanoes. Hakone is a hot springs resort town located in the Fuji Izu National Park. For a relaxing final day in Tokyo, travelers can take advantage of the optional excursion to the Hamarikyu Gardens and enjoy a boat ride from Hinode Pier to Asakusa to see a blend of the old and new Tokyo.
