WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ReachLocal, Inc. (NASDAQ:RLOC), a leader in local online marketing solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), announced today the hiring of digital product veteran Kris Barton to the position of Chief Product Officer.
Barton comes to ReachLocal from Nero, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of the multimedia software company. In his five years as a senior executive at Nero, Barton oversaw business development as well as all of the company’s global online products and services, including photo editing products and OEM partner software for Motorola, TiVo and Dell. Prior to Nero, Barton held key product positions at Microsoft, overseeing the product development efforts for the MSN online properties including MSN.com and MSN network channels. In addition, he has also held product positions at Omniture and Novell Corporation. Barton has a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and marketing communications from Brigham Young University.

In his new role as CPO, Barton will be primarily responsible for the development of new products and the ongoing optimization of the Company’s core online marketing products, including ReachSearch™, ReachCast™ and ReachDisplay™. Barton will also focus on the internationalization of these products as ReachLocal continues its expansion into new global markets.
Barton will be based in ReachLocal’s corporate headquarters in Woodland Hills, Calif., and report to Mr. Hanks.
