OMVS: Biometrics Poised to Revolutionize Disaster Response

TAMPA, Fla.--()--In the aftermath of a natural disaster, the search for missing loved ones is often long, difficult and painful. On the Move Systems (OTCBB:OMVS) and IQBiometrix (IQB) could soon make this recovery process easier than ever before.

OMVS signed a letter of intent to explore a new business agreement with IQB last week.

In the wake of Japan’s earthquake/tsunami/meltdown triple disaster a year ago, tens of thousands of people went missing in the chaos. IQB’s groundbreaking FACES software could soon make locating and identifying missing people in a disaster zone faster and simpler than previously dreamed possible. Often, photographs and other records are lost or destroyed by the catastrophe, making a wide, effective search practically impossible.

When families and friends are separated during a disaster or evacuation, it can be very difficult to reach one another again, particularly when communications are down or the people involved are children or disabled. Thanks to a database of 4,400 facial features, including Latin, African-American and Asian components, FACES 4.0 lets emergency responders create and distribute accurate composites renderings of any face described to them.

The selected features are blended together, producing photo-quality composite image. Users can even enhance image accuracy by altering hair colors, adding facial markings such as scars, moles, piercings, tattoos and earrings and using hats, headwear and eyeglasses.

With bigger and more destructive natural disasters seemingly increasing in frequency every year, emergency responders across the globe must rely on sophisticated tools to help restore normalcy. FACES makes many of those tools obsolete.
