LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Concord Law School of Kaplan University, the nation’s leading fully-online law school, will celebrate the graduation of 106 students on Saturday, March 3, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The graduating class includes 62 graduates of the Juris Doctor program and 44 who earned an Executive Juris Doctor degree. More than 40% of the graduates hold other post-graduate degrees, including Ph.Ds, MDs, and individuals with Masters degrees in engineering, criminal justice, business management, and taxation.
John McKay, currently a professor at Seattle University School of Law, will be the key note speaker. McKay began his career in private practice, was a White House Fellow (1989-90), President of the Legal Services Corporation (1997-2001) and the United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington (2001-2007) before joining the Seattle University faculty. During his tenure as US Attorney, his office convicted the "millennium bomber" who was planning to blow up the Los Angeles airport and won a conviction against James Ujaama, who was planning to build an al Qaeda training camp in Oregon. At the law school, Professor McKay teaches Constitutional Law of Terrorism and National Security Law, as well as courses on ethics and leadership.
