Research and Markets: Ukraine Food and Drink Report Q1 2012 - In 2011, Metro Group Was Reported To Be Planning a Chain of Convenience Stores in Ukraine under the Moy Magazin Banner

DUBLIN--()--Research and Markets(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/eaf847/ukraine_food_and_d) has announced the addition of the "Ukraine Food and Drink Report Q1 2012" report to their offering.

There is no question that the past few years have been difficult, but recently Ukraine had started to look better on the consumer side, with private household expenditure up strongly since the start of 2011. The recovery in consumer spending has however been losing steam of late, and high inflation continues to weigh on real wages. BMI continue to view Ukraine as one of the least attractive regional markets for food and drink producers, with the country characterised by both modest rewards and high investment risks, although its longer-term potential is substantial.

Headline Industry Data (local currency) 2011 per capita food consumption = +10.2%; forecast to 2016 = +57.7% 2011 alcoholic drinks value sales = +8.92%; forecast to 2016 = +50.1% 2011 soft drinks value sales = +6.96; forecast to 2016 = +39.8% 2011 mass grocery retail = +14.6%; forecast to 2016 = +78.0%
