DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/6d42b6/digital_tv_latin_a) has announced the addition of the "Digital TV Latin America Report" report to their offering.
Most Latin American territories are experiencing a surge in digital television penetration, according to a new report from Digital TV Research. Digital TV Latin America calculated that less than a quarter of TV households received digital signals by end-2010, though this was up from only 16.5% a year earlier. By 2016, the report forecasts that 71% of the region's TV households will have digital TV - or 93 million (triple the end-2010 total).
Digital TV will still have plenty of room for growth for some time to come. There will still be 38 million analog TV homes (29% of the total) by end-2016, though this is down 64 million on the 102 million in 2006.
This electronically-delivered report comes in three parts:
- A PDF file providing punchy narrative and succinct analysis in the Executive Summary and a digital TV briefing for each of 19 countries.
- An excel workbook providing detailed forecasts from 2006 to 2016 for eight countries as well as handy comparative tables for the region.
- An excel workbook providing relevant background, so that the reader can drill down for detail at operator level
Forecasts (2006-2016) contain the following detail for each country:
