CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Healthy Advice Networks, the leading provider of award-winning patient and physician engagement programs at the point of care, today announced the acquisition of PatientPoint™, a provider of care coordination, patient engagement, and revenue cycle management solutions. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The combination of Healthy Advice programs and PatientPoint’s products and services creates a full suite of digital, targeted, and flexible point-of-care solutions that provide an unprecedented ability for physicians, patients, and other healthcare stakeholders to collaborate even more effectively to improve patient health and wellness.
As the industry leader in point-of-care education, Healthy Advice Networks provides health information programs that strengthen patient-physician engagement in waiting rooms, exam rooms, and practice management areas, as well as in hospital settings. PatientPoint extends this product portfolio by adding:
1. Care coordination services to address gaps in care by connecting patients with valuable care-related information pre- and post-service online and at the point of care;
2. Electronic check-in that is able to work with existing electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management platforms;
3. Revenue cycle management solutions that help optimize reimbursement and enhance billing processes;
4. Health outcomes support that provides point-of-care clinical decision information and therapy adherence reminders; and
5. Streamlined certification support to assist in the pursuit of new care models such as Patient-Centered Medical Homes and Accountable Care Organizations, which are driven by improved clinical review, quality reporting, and performance measurements.
According to Mike Collette, chairman and founder of Healthy Advice Networks, “The acquisition of PatientPoint furthers our mission to help patients and healthcare professionals make more informed decisions. How physicians deliver care is fundamentally changing and PatientPoint’s offerings are a natural extension of the care management tools and patient education solutions we provide to help healthcare providers meet this challenge head on.”
“The combination of our two companies unlocks new and innovative ways to engage and educate patients regarding their health,” said Raj Toleti, president and CEO of PatientPoint. “Our platform ensures clinical transparency between patients and providers so both stakeholders are fully aligned in the development and adherence of care plans.”
“Together, we offer truly unique solutions that enable improved health outcomes, while lowering cost and improving the patient experience. The key to our business model is the ability to drive new levels of collaboration across all stakeholders in the continuum of care, including providers, payers, PBMs/pharmacies, pharmaceutical and medical technology manufacturers, and consumer health and wellness companies. No one else can match what we are now able to do for customers,” said Tom McGuinness, CEO of Healthy Advice Networks. “This acquisition represents an important step we are taking to extend our leadership position in this critically important part of the healthcare delivery system.”
