Lower Allen Police Department Sees 66 Percent Increase in Officer Efficiency Through Use of CODY Systems

POTTSTOWN, Pa.--()--CODY Systems, a nationwide leader in public-safety software, today announced that the Lower Allen Township Police Department, which went live with CODY Records and CODY Mobile Office in February, has already witnessed a dramatic return on investment. Benchmark testing after implementation of the new CODY products revealed a 66 percent decrease in the amount of time needed for an officer to enter a complaint (police report) when compared to the old system. This means more time policing the streets and less time in front of the computer filling out reports.

When researching and selecting a records management system, Lower Allen Township Police Chief Frank Williamson was most interested in finding a solution that would provide at least a 50 percent decrease in the time required for his officers to create and log reports. Within the first week of his officers using CODY, Chief Williamson reported that CODY’s solution successfully logged a complaint in only five minutes, while the former system took well over 17 minutes to log the same complaint – a decrease of 66 percent.

“Our mission has always been to enhance officer safety and increase the efficiency with which law enforcement carries out its duties,” said Fran Heffner, co-CEO of CODY Systems. “Our solutions allow public safety officials more time to interact within their communities by decreasing time spent completing reports; we’re excited to see this immediate and overwhelming return on investment in Lower Allen.”

CODY Records is a comprehensive records management, analysis and reporting module that allows agencies to organize, manage, cross-reference and effectively use all the various types of records collected. Additionally, it enables users to concurrently access, search for, report on and analyze all information collected by the agency on any person, incident, vehicle, business, piece of property/evidence, etc. in one intuitive interface. CODY Mobile Office gives mobile and remote units real-time integrated access to the agency database and a robust RMS client for use in the field, along with mobile and silent dispatch access with instant messaging.
