NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metro US today announces the launch of The Karl Lagerfeld "Look Book" competition, giving readers the chance to work on the edition guest edited globally by Karl Lagerfeld: “The World According to Karl.” The collectible issue will feature Lagerfeld's imprint throughout every section of the newspaper, from special guests and interviews to exclusive illustrations and pull-out artwork.
The “Look Book” is a dedicated website (karlformetro.com) where US participants are encouraged to submit their own "fashion statement" in words and pictures. With a link to Facebook, participants can engage friends and fans, post messages about their "Look Book," and promote their submission. The competition is open to all readers, one of whom will win a trip to Paris on February 6 to be the editorial assistant, as well as selection of items from Lagerfeld's collections of clothing, fragrances and accessories.
"I love daily papers and it’s fun to be part of one of them just for the day. Metro is on a worldwide scale and it’s even more fun,” says Karl Lagerfeld.
As Global Guest Editor, Lagerfeld will spend the day at Metro, where he will work with editors, produce illustrations and comment on the day's news for the edition — The World According to Karl.
“Once again, Metro will have an iconic figure guest editing our papers and we're delighted. To have Karl Lagerfeld's expertise and insight at our disposal sets Metro apart and coming just a few months after Lady Gaga as guest editor, it is yet another real treat for Metro, our readers and advertisers," said Tony Metcalf, Editor in Chief of Metro in the USA.
The special issue will also kick off Metro’s exclusive coverage of the four global fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Metro New York will publish its traditional Fashion Week Preview Thursday, February 9th along with its traditional limited edition Preview Guide with exclusive Lagerfeld for Metro content.
