NEW DEHLI, India--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alphion® Corporation announced today that it has been selected by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur to provide its GPON based access network solution for deployment across their Kharagpur campus, Kharagpur, India. Alphion is exhibiting its full range of GPON products at the 2011 Indian Telecom Exhibition and Conference, in New Delhi, India, December 7th - 9th (Hall 11, Booth 64).
The GPON access network will provide the future–proof infrastructure bandwidth to seamlessly interconnect IIT Kharagpur’s departments, centres, schools, all class rooms and residences for distributing services not only from within the Kharagpur campus, but from the pan-India National Knowledge Network (NKN). NKN is the state-of-the-art multi-gigabit pan-India network for providing a unified high speed network backbone for all knowledge related institutions in the country.
