Celebrity Chefs Demonstrate Unexpected Ways to Use Kikkoman Products, Kikkoman Offers Free Product for Homecooks to Experiment in the Kitchen

SAN FRANCISCO--()--On last night’s “The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs,” Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Geoffrey Zakarian battled to create sweet desserts that incorporated Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs and Kikkoman Lime Ponzu – both typically associated with Asian-savory cuisine – in unique, unexpected ways. Today, Kikkoman and Food Network are teaming up to make it easy for homecooks to have some fun in their very own kitchens – for 48 hours following the show, viewers can log on to the Food Network website to download a $3.00-off coupon that is redeemable for either of the products. The coupon will be available for download for 48 hours starting on December 4, 2011 at 6:45pm PT.

“This was a unique opportunity for us to show ‘foodies’ and everyday cooks the many unexpected, different ways Kikkoman products can be used, and to encourage them to try the products at home in these new ways,” said Kikkoman’s Mike Evans, vice president of sales and marketing.

The chefs in this ‘Secret Ingredient Challenge’ had just 30 minutes to create the dessert. They then presented their creation to the judges, and ultimately, Chef Geoffrey Zakarian was named the winner of the challenge.

“Both of the chefs showed just how easy it is to use the products in new ways in sweet applications, and frankly, they wowed us all with the ingenuity and creativity in the desserts they created,” said Evans.
