LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The majestic Trafalgar Square Christmas tree is a popular seasonal tourist attraction, along with the joyful holiday music being sung by choirs throughout the square.
The people of Oslo have been giving a Christmas tree to London’s Trafalgar Square since 1947 as a special thank you to Britain for its friendship and support during World War II. This holiday event is one of the area’s most popular Christmas tourist attractions, drawing people from all over to celebrate the season.
On Thursday December 1st, you can join in the joy of the holiday season by singing carols with the Choir of St Martin in the Fields around the Christmas tree, beginning at 6pm, followed by the lighting of the tree at 6.30pm. Nelson's Column will also be adorned with gorgeous Norwegian white lights, another amazing focal point in the square. The Christmas tree itself will be lit up for all to enjoy from noon until midnight every day until the Twelfth Night of Christmas in early January.
Beginning Monday, December 5th until Thursday, December 22nd, a different choir will be singing Christmas carols around the tree to raise money for a variety of charities between 5pm and 9pm and everyone is welcome to join in. To find out more about the event, visit
