NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GazziliWorld, LLC, a leading developer of innovative, educational applications for preschoolers, today announced that it has re-launched its popular Webby-nominated children’s educational app, GoodieWords, as GazziliWords, which is joined on the App Store by the newly released app, GazziliShapes. Both apps are available now for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
The GazziliWords App is designed to challenge preschoolers with important words that can otherwise be difficult to define and describe in a kid-friendly way, and the ‘dual-curriculum’ approach used in both the GazziliWords and GazziliShapes Apps introduce children to technology they’ll be using as part of their education for years to come.
The GazziliWords and GazziliShapes Apps offer numerous benefits to children and their parents, including the ability to:
- Define hard-to-explain words such as fingerprint, internet, and blood, as well as difficult shape-related concepts.
- Engage children with fun, interactive activities, characters and music.
- Improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills as children gain proficiency with tablet hardware.
- Provide on-the-go access to fun, educational activities anytime, anywhere.
Both apps also take advantage of the breakthrough features of iOS 5, including iCloud and Twitter integration.
GazziliWords and GazziliShapes were developed with input from leading educational experts from Stanford University and New York City’s The Dalton School. According to Brigid Barron, Associate Professor of Education and Learning Sciences at Stanford University, “Vocabulary development is at the heart of becoming a strong reader and communicator. This app offers young children the opportunity to playfully explore challenging concepts and learn the meanings of words through friendly definitions. Parents can support this learning by engaging their children in conversation about these concepts during game play and everyday activity.”
Michael Petillo, Vocabulary and Learning Specialist at New York City’s The Dalton School, said, “Similar to GazziliWords, GazziliShapes offers identifiable and fun activities that help children explore and learn geometric shapes. The interactive, fun activities provide children the opportunity to synthesize various shapes that are part of their everyday environment.”
“GazziliWords and GazziliShapes are designed with several goals in mind: to teach more difficult words and shape-related concepts to preschoolers, to challenge young minds to learn said subject matter at an earlier age, and to help children build confidence as they learn,” says Adam Gittlin, Founder and CEO of GazziliWorld, LLC. “By releasing our apps on the App Store, we have the opportunity to reach millions of children and help them enhance their vocabulary and shape proficiency with technology."
