The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites Announces the Return of LAPrime Restaurant’s Fabulous Forty Wine List

Welcomes Ronald Bankston Chef de Cuisine of LAPrime

LOS ANGELES--()--The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites’ award-winning restaurant LAPrime, recognized by Wine Spectator for the quality of its wine list, has announced the return of the popular Fabulous Forty wine list featuring a hand selection of wine from California and beyond. All Fabulous Forty featured wines are available by the bottle to restaurant dine-in patrons only, at the hotel’s cost plus seven dollars until inventory is sold out. The featured wines are not available for retail sale.

Headlining the November and December Fabulous Forty wine list is Opus One, a varietal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. LAPrime’s collection features five Opus One vintages: 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002 and 2001. Rounding out the Fabulous Forty wine list are 39 other high profile favorites from around the globe such as Raymond Generations, Shafer, One Point Five, Mumm de Cramant, Silver Oak and Duckhorn, just to name a few.

In addition, The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites welcomes Ronald Bankston as chef de cuisine of LAPrime restaurant. Chef Bankston will head up the restaurant’s culinary team under the direction of Executive Chef Andreas Nieto.

Bankston’s journey began aboard the USS Frank S. Cable where his passion for cooking lead him to the Culinary Arts Institute of Louisiana, where he received a culinary degree. He has diversified his knowledge and training in French, Creole, Italian, German, and American cuisine. While Chef of Donovan’s Steakhouse in San Diego, Calif., the restaurant received several awards including Best Steakhouse by the California Restaurant Association, The Lamplighter Association, and City Beat Magazine each year.
