This Veteran’s Day, the tiny tweet will rise in stature as people who share their support for the military will have their tweets “broadcast” live throughout Fayetteville, NC on four high-traffic billboards when they participate in Tweets4Troops, a nationwide Veteran’s Day Twitter salute. Through a local tweet-up and the hashtag #Tweets4Troops, the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) is encouraging people to join in an unprecedented show of support to honor veterans and active servicemen. The campaign will kick off with a tweet-up at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Cross Creek Mall. Residents, family and friends are encouraged to attend, but anyone can join the FACVB effort online from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. to tweet their support using the hashtag #Tweets4Troops.
To participate, Twitter users simply follow the FACVB on Twitter, www.Twitter.com/FACVB, and use the hashtag #Tweets4Troops in each tweet. Americans are encouraged to get involved in the Twitter conversation, tweeting to friends and loved ones in the United States Army (@USArmy), United States Navy (@USNavy), United States Marine Corps (@USMC), and United States Air Force (@US_Air_Force).
Fayetteville/Cumberland County, NC residents can see their tweets live on four high-traffic billboards at Ramsey Street at the Martin Luther King Expressway, Yadkin Road, Raeford Road, and in Spring Lake.
The FACVB will donate one dollar for every tweet with the hashtag #Tweet4Troops on Veteran’s Day (up to $1,000) to the Army’s Army.
