SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Student Doctor Network, a non-profit educational organization, today announced it has reached a membership milestone and introduced an updated social media policy and major change to its online presence.
“We’re proud to say that our community has grown to more than 300,000 members,“ said Lee Burnett, executive director. “Our community members drive the SDN forums, the heart of the site, which consist of over 11 million posts covering all areas of the health care education process. We believe this milestone to be a significant step forward in achieving our organizational mission: to assist and encourage all students through the challenging and complicated healthcare education process.”
In addition, an updated social media policy is available online at http://studentdoctor.net/about-sdn/newsroom/. It addresses concerns about the organization’s policy on member privacy, copyright protection, and the moderation of member forums. The policy explains the purpose, intent and monitoring process used to ensure compliance with privacy laws, protection of members and the integrity of university recruitment programs around the U.S.
As a result of organizational growth, the website has been overhauled to provide quick and easy access to the content that members seek. Highlights of the changes include the following:
- A standard template will bring together all the different areas of SDN into one look and feel.
- Easier navigation between educational information and member forums and beyond.
In support of the organization’s strategic direction, SDN will continue to provide the following benefits:
- Educational Articles
- Member Forums
- Interview Feedback Database
- School Feedback Database
- Test Prep Week
- Free Classifieds
- Publications
