Super Committee: America’s Watching

As The November 23rd Deadline Looms, Billboards Rise With One Message: Cut Spending

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--With less than a month for the super committee to identify between $1.2 and $1.5 trillion in spending cuts, Bankrupting America, a project of Public Notice, launches a billboard campaign designed to remind Congress that the nation is watching. The billboards will run simultaneously in the center of both the political and financial worlds: Washington, D.C. and New York City.

These billboards reinforce the need for leaders to demonstrate courage and a serious commitment to both fiscal responsibility and this nation’s economic recovery.

Gretchen Hamel, executive director of Public Notice, said the following:

“Just as American families count down the kickoff to the holidays, we are counting down the days to the Super Committee’s deadline. The stakes are high, and we hope these billboards will keep the pressure on the Super Committee to give the people what they ask for: real, meaningful cuts in spending.

“As we head into this holiday season, there is no better place for a message about the fiscal crossroad that faces our nation, than at the Crossroads of the World: Congress needs to cut spending.”

Public Notice’s billboards are located at 1234 Massachusetts Ave, NE, Washington, D.C. and Times Square, New York City. These billboards (see below) will run for the entire month of November.

This is part of a significant and multi-faceted effort including mobile, online and social targeting and advertising, and is the fifth in a series of ads to remind Congress they were sent to the nation’s capital to cut government spending. See Reagan National Airport, Coasters & Posters, Union Station and Buses & Bus Stops Slogans.
