Prominent Economist and Two Former SEC Commissioners Join Liquidnet’s Board of Directors

New Appointments Bring Significant Global Regulatory & Economic Expertise As Liquidnet’s Growth Continues

NEW YORK--()--Liquidnet, the global institutional trading network, announced today the appointment of three prominent industry leaders to its Board of Directors. They are Lawrence S. Bacow, an economist, attorney and former President of Tufts University, Roel Campos, a former Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Lady Barbara Thomas Judge, an international banker and lawyer who has served in regulatory roles in both the UK and the US, including as a former SEC Commissioner.

Mr. Bacow served as President of Tufts University from September 2001 to August 201l. A recognized expert on environmental policy and a former Chancellor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he has served in a range of government advisory positions and has held visiting professorships at leading universities in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. On May 25, 2011, Mr. Bacow was named as a member of the Harvard Corporation, the nine member governing body of Harvard University.

Mr. Campos served as an SEC Commissioner from 2002 to 2007 and is currently a partner with Locke Lord LLP, leading the firm’s securities regulation and enforcement practice. While at the SEC, he was Vice Chair of the Technical Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissions and facilitated the development of international auditing and accounting standards. Mr. Campos was recently named to President Obama’s Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board.

Lady Judge has served in senior executive roles in the US, Asia and Europe. She is currently Chairman of the Pension Protection Fund, a statutory corporation created by the UK’s Pensions Act of 2004 to insure defined benefit pension plans in the UK, and previously served as Chairman of the U.K. Atomic Energy Authority from 2004 to 2010. A former partner in Kaye, Scholer, Fireman, Hays & Handler in New York, she was appointed by the President of the United States in 1980 as the youngest ever Commissioner of the SEC. While at the SEC, she began its efforts to strengthen international securities regulation.

The appointments, which were effective October 1st, bring the total number of board members to 9.
