HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CyrusOne, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) and preeminent enterprise data center solutions provider, announced today it hired Kevin Timmons as the company’s new chief technology officer (CTO).
“We are really excited that Kevin has decided to join our team. His leadership and experience will enable CyrusOne to provide our Fortune 1000 customers with the economic, environmental and modularity benefits that historically were only available to ‘webscale’ companies,” said Gary Wojtaszek, President of CyrusOne. “As we build out our facilities and launch new projects like our recent Phoenix acquisition, Kevin will provide the insight necessary to ensure CyrusOne incorporates the latest data center design technologies in the next phase of our development plans.”
Before working for Microsoft as their General Manager, Data Center Services, Timmons was the VP of Operations at Yahoo! and the Director of Operations at GeoCities. At Microsoft, Timmons was primarily responsible for defining, communicating and executing the company’s world-renowned data center strategy, achieving impressive financial returns through many of his modular design techniques as well as achieving considerable improvements in lowering the company’s carbon footprint by implementing many “green” initiatives across a data center platform that has operations in 10 countries.
“I am excited to be joining an organization like CyrusOne which currently is a hidden secret in the data center industry,” said Kevin Timmons, Chief Technology Officer, CyrusOne. “After spending a considerable amount of time understanding the company’s strategy and customer-centric focus, I believe that we have a tremendous opportunity for growth and disruption of the datacenter landscape. This is a unique opportunity to help define and transform an industry that is decades behind the work that has been going on in the web community.”
In addition to his datacenter expertise, Kevin has a proven track record building and retaining high-performing teams,” continued Wojtaszek. “Kevin will be instrumental in helping us expand our footprint and deliver top-notch customer service.”
