BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At the 220th Electrochemical Society (ECS) meeting held in Boston, United States, Advanced Lithium Electrochemistry Co., Ltd. (Aleees) became the only Taiwanese manufacturer who had been invited to give a speech. It discussed its innovative double-layer nano-carbon coating technology, one that has attracted the attention of industry players. With its industrial leading technology, Aleees has created an innovative double-layer nano-carbon coating technology which allows olivine material to be coated with different carbon compounds with thicknesses less than 5 nm so as to improve the structural integrity of the material and enhance the life cycle of batteries by 2.7 times.
As the most crucial electric power source in vehicles, a battery cell’s life cycle has always been the biggest obstacle impeding the development of electric vehicles. Aleees’ research and development team successfully developed a double-layer nano-carbon coating technology which can improve the material structure of batteries. The experiments showed that application of such a technology can increase the life cycle of batteries, around 2,000 recharges at present, to more than 5,400 recharges but still retain 80% of the battery cell’s capacity. Such a technological breakthrough for batteries not only reduces the cost of electric vehicles but also accelerates the commercialization progress of electric vehicles.
