BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Baltimore SmartCEO magazine presented Randy Thompson as the 2011 CEO of the Year winner at a gala event in Baltimore, MD October 6th.
With more than 350 executives in attendance, the CEO of the Year award was presented to Randy Thompson, CEO of ThompsonGas. Thompson took over the family business in 1996. In just 15 years, Thompson has grown a one-location appliance and propane store in Boonsboro, MD, into a $115 million, 325-person energy supplier with locations in 10 states.
“I feel honored to be selected but like any successful organization it takes a combination of talented people to achieve the results we have. My parents built a strong foundation for us to build from and the management team and employees of ThompsonGas build on that foundation every day,” said Thompson.
The CEO of the Year honoree is profiled in the October 2011 issue of Baltimore SmartCEO magazine. “Randy is an inspiration to CEOs in this region and throughout the country. His leadership and forward-thinking have set a high bar for the Baltimore business community. SmartCEO magazine is honored to recognize him tonight,” said Craig Burris, Publisher of SmartCEO magazine.
