Ozark Police Department in Southwest Missouri Goes Live With CODY Systems’ Public Safety Software

Deployment of CODY Records and Mobile Office now provides officers in Ozark, MO true, real-time access to their data at the desktop and in the field at the edge of their network

POTTSTOWN, Pa.--()--CODY Systems announced today that the Ozark Police Department in Missouri is now live with their deployment of the award-winning CODY system, including CODY Records and CODY Mobile Office.

Officers in the field and in-house at the 35-sworn agency are now enjoying the crucial benefits of real-time access to their records management information anywhere they need it, along with access to information from the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Additionally, with the deployment of CODY Mobile Office, officers can spend more time on the streets, as the application is a full RMS client optimized for mobile use and is integrated with the Missouri State Accident Report. To enhance their use of the CODY system, Ozark PD also purchased CODY’s property and evidence bar coding and equipment inventory systems.

Ozark PD joins the ever-growing list of CODY clients in the state of Missouri, including the Christian County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) among many others. In an effort to make a well-founded decision, Ozark PD visited a number of other CODY agencies in the region, including the CCSO, to gain firsthand experience with the software solutions provided by CODY. After thorough research of its options, Ozark strongly preferred a CODY system for its reliability, ease-of-entry, speed, user-friendly interface and native interoperability. However, it was CODY’s trusted name, company mission and focus on officer safety that led the agency to ultimately select CODY as their vendor of choice.

“We’re the county seat in Christian County, Missouri and the sheriff’s department uses CODY Systems’ products, so we are aware of how well it works for them,” said Chief Lyle Hodges of the Ozark Police Department. “This is going to allow us to work smarter. Before we went with CODY, officers had to return to the station to file their reports. Now they can do their paperwork from their cruisers, which allows them more time on patrol. That’s better policing.”

Officer Tim Fielden, Ozark PD’s project manager, also weighed in on the importance of having information available to these officers in real-time, whether they are in the station or on the street.

“The CODY system is user-friendly and works fast, allowing officers the ability to get the information they demand quickly,” said Officer Fielden. “This helps protect officers because they will know what type of a person they are dealing with and can act in a manner appropriate for the situation or suspect they’re dealing with.”

CODY welcomes Ozark to the ever-growing CODY presence in the state of Missouri.

“We’ve been providing public safety software to agencies in Missouri for a number of years now,” said Fran Heffner, CEO of CODY Systems. “Missouri is a focus of ours and we are proud to offer the officers there the tools they need to better protect and serve their communities, as well as themselves and their colleagues. The deployment of our mobile office product also gives the officers in Ozark an advantage as they are now equipped with instant access to information while on patrol, allowing them to remain on the beat and on the streets where they are most effective in fighting crime.”
