NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Macquarie Group (“Macquarie”) (ASX: MQG; ADR: MQBKY) today announced the appointment of Vikas Dwivedi, who joins as Global Oil & Gas Economist. This key appointment provides Macquarie and its clients with equities and commodities expertise, analysis and advice.
Mr. Dwivedi, who is based in Macquarie’s Houston office, has more than 13 years of buy and sell-side experience in the oil, gas and power sectors, covering equities and commodities research, commodity derivatives and commercial project management. He joins from BTU Capital Management, where he led its trading and research efforts in crude oil and natural gas markets and was previously at Quantum Energy Partners, Morgan Stanley and Prudential Equity Group in a variety of equities research roles.
Andrew Root, Managing Director and Head of US Research, said: “Vikas’ appointment expands our commitment to global energy research, delivering to Macquarie clients a global view on trends in oil and gas, and sector insights that go beyond individual energy stock coverage. Research at Macquarie is ideas-driven and intellectually rigorous, and leverages the collective experience and intelligence of our position as one of the world’s largest fundamental research houses.”
Nicholas O`Kane, Global Head of Energy Markets Division, said: "Macquarie provides the full spectrum of energy trading, and services a broad range of energy market participants. Vikas’ knowledge of oil and gas pricing and the fundamental drivers relevant to this sector will be invaluable to our energy and commodities product offering.”
The appointment follows Macquarie’s recent announcement of three senior US research appointments in steel, metals & mining, banks, and consumer & specialty retail.
Macquarie’s US equities team works in close coordination with counterparts in Canada, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to deliver global sector coverage, joint thematic research and rigorous companies analysis to clients.
