Topic: In a world of growing renewable and distributed energy generation, the current electric grid is in need of a major overhaul, and a “networked grid” is the answer. The electric utility industry is beginning to recognize the need for new information and communications technologies to underpin a 21st century power grid, and this session will walk through what a networked grid is, what benefits it brings and how information technology is converging with electric power delivery for better use of energy.
