Braun Launches Automotive Mobility Industry’s First TV Ad Campaign

Campaign Promotes Mobility Solutions During Disability Employment Awareness Month

WINAMAC, Ind.--()--The country’s 4.3 million wheelchair users will soon have a new way to learn about available mobility vehicle products. Braun Corporation, one of the first companies to address the need for wheelchair accessible vehicles nearly 40 years ago, has launched another industry first – a national TV advertising campaign.

The campaign, titled “Driving Freedom,” features customers who use accessible vehicles on a daily basis, and promotes the independence, reliability and safety BraunAbility products offer. As a company created by Ralph Braun, an individual with spinal muscular atrophy and a wheelchair user, the campaign conveys Braun’s deep understanding of and commitment to its core customers.

“The campaign focuses on the benefits our products offer for people in wheelchairs, in particular the independence gained from the ability to drive,” said Nick Gutwein, Braun President. “With our expanded marketing efforts and product offerings, we hope to raise awareness of products that enhance our customers’ lives and offer the freedom they deserve.”

The campaign launch aptly falls in the first week of Disability Employment Awareness Month, a presidential proclamation to showcase the contributions of people with disabilities to the American workforce. Braun’s TV campaign addresses the unique needs of wheelchair users and increases visibility of products available to help this audience regain mobility independence, a primary employment barrier for many people with disabilities.

Founded on the commitment to drive freedom for individuals with disabilities, Braun continues to refine its infrastructure, product offerings and dealer network to meet the changing needs of the mobility audience. With the recent 2011 BraunAbility releases of the Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Toyota Sienna and Honda Entervan, as well as strong support from its 24/7 dealer network services, Braun was well positioned to broaden its consumer advertising outreach.

Braun is planning a national TV campaign launch later this year, following the initial introduction in the Austin, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City and Minneapolis markets.

About The Braun Corporation
The Braun Corporation is the largest manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, ramps, and wheelchair lifts worldwide and enables people with physical disabilities to regain mobility and lead active and independent lives. The Indiana-based company was founded by Ralph Braun, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at a young age and unable to walk by age 15. Ralph was motivated by his disability to invent the world’s first electric scooter (the Tri-Wheeler) and wheelchair lift (the Lift-A-Way) in his parents’ garage. Word spread and demand for the product increased, resulting in the birth of Save-A-Step Manufacturing, which ultimately became The Braun Corporation. The company offers the most diverse line of vehicle platforms in the industry, including the most popular minivan models from Dodge/Chrysler, Honda, and Toyota.
