Constellation Energy to Sponsor First “Environment Friendly Game” at Iconic Soldier Field as Bears Launch “Save Da Planet” Initiative

As Proud Partner of Chicago Bears, Constellation Will Help Promote Environmental Awareness Among Fans, Players and Friends

CHICAGO--()--Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG), one of the leading competitive energy suppliers to Illinois business and residential customers, today announced it is a Proud Partner of The Chicago Bears Football Club. Constellation Energy will help drive the Bears’ comprehensive environmental awareness initiative, culminating with the organization’s first “Environment Friendly Game” against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, Nov. 20. Constellation Energy also will be the energy provider to Halas Hall, home to the Bears’ front office and practice facilities.

“Like the Bears, the Constellation team is made up of fierce competitors, and our goal on and off the field is to bring electricity choice and savings to Chicagoland business and residential customers,” said Bruce Stewart, chief marketing officer, Retail Energy, for Constellation Energy. “At Soldier Field and at homes and businesses across Illinois, we’re helping customers manage their energy costs and make meaningful contributions to environmental sustainability.”

Constellation Energy will usher in the first “Environment Friendly Game” at Soldier Field by purchasing renewable energy certificates (RECs) that will cover the typical energy usage on game day. That will help the Bears and fans attending the event avoid approximately 42 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

“Constellation Energy is honored to be the power behind the Bears, both as an electricity supplier and as a strong contributor to the Bears’ environmental stewardship programs,” said Stewart.

“The Chicago Bears Football Club is thrilled to partner with Constellation Energy as we launch our ‘Save Da Planet’ awareness initiative,” said Chris Hibbs, senior director of Sales & Marketing with the Chicago Bears. “We thank Constellation Energy for its partnership and look forward to future collaborations.”

Constellation Energy currently offers Bears’ fans and Chicagoland residents a green electricity choice plan that automatically includes 10 percent green energy – energy generated from renewable sources such as wind and solar. Constellation also provides the option for customers to increase their green energy to 50 or 100 percent. Constellation Energy, the nationwide leader in the commercial electricity sector, began providing residential electric service to Chicago-area residents in February, offering fixed-price certainty on electricity supply at rates lower than the current utility standard offer prices. Constellation Energy has been providing electric and natural gas service to thousands of the state's largest employers, schools, hospitals and municipalities for more than a decade.
