LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TIBCO TUCON – ITRS Group, provider of predictive, real-time monitoring and proactive application performance management products and Kaazing, the leading enabler of the living web, today announced their partnership to deliver secure, real-time access to management information across the company from desktop browsers and mobile applications.
“We’re committed to providing real-time access to critical management information across the enterprise,” said Quintin Gomez, CTO of ITRS Group. “Our customers are looking for simpler, more efficient ways of sending information in real-time to users without making any compromises on security or incurring high private networking costs and overheads so they can initiate actions through the Geneos platform. Kaazing solves the industry’s fundamental issues which have kept yesterday’s web architecture from meeting these needs.”
Gomez explained that under this partnership, the Kaazing WebSocket Gateway will be integrated into the ITRS Geneos framework. “Leveraging key innovations to differentiate our service offerings is very important in today’s fast-changing business climate.”
The Kaazing platform makes possible real-time, full duplex (or simultaneous two-way) connectivity over the Web. The platform, developed by the team which helped define 90% of the initial HTML5 WebSocket specification, includes enterprise-class features such as cross-browser, high availability, failover, and load balancing support.
“ITRS Group delivers critical, living business information so that enterprises can run as efficiently as possible,” said Jonas Jacobi, founder and CEO of Kaazing. “Enabling access to this insight over the Web will significantly enhance its usability.”
According to ITRS, some examples of ways in which its customers will be able to use the integrated capabilities include: Operations managers already log into Geneos from web browsers in order to check the status of their critical trading systems wherever they might be. With an ever increasing variety of real-time information streaming back to more and more Geneos users, system managers need to carefully control how much bandwidth is being consumed in securely supporting remote users. Kaazing solves these delivery concerns, allowing them to scale out their remote use of Geneos to hundreds of operations staff.

2. The Kaazing Platform and the Weaknesses of the Traditional Web Architecture
The Kaazing platform solves a fundamental problem facing the Web today. The Web’s architecture was originally developed in the 1990’s and was designed to handle communication in one direction at a time, much like a telegraph system. Over the years, this architecture has remained essentially unchanged though it has tried to keep up with evolving requirements. This design was fine when the Web was used primarily to share and retrieve documents and static pages. However, now we’re entering the age of the living web, where every application is dynamic, real-time, and interactive, and it’s clear just how outdated and costly this original web architecture has become. The design, in which every bit of data is treated like an individual telegram that’s sent across the Web when it’s requested, is inefficient and doesn’t meet the demands of today’s Web. Using the old web architecture for the living web is forcing companies and consumers to pay unnecessary bandwidth, energy, and hardware investment costs. Recognizing that adding more kludges to the Web’s existing architecture won’t solve these underlying problems, Kaazing’s founding team played a major role in defining the HTML “WebSocket” specification. WebSockets enable full duplex (or simultaneous two way) connectivity over the Web. This means that for the first time, the new generation of web architecture works like a telephone system, rather than a walkie-talkie.
