OSLO, Norway--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Goldfish Boat, a Norwegian manufacturer of premium hand-built open motorboats, successfully tested this month a 23-foot full-electric yacht tender that reaches speeds in excess of 47 knots.
The innovative electric propulsion system, designed by ReGen Nautic in Florida, is fully automated and includes a 145 kW electric motor, HV switching box and display computer. Four Corvus Energy AT6500 modules power the motor. The boat maintains benchmark speeds comparable to a 200 horsepower gas motor, releases zero carbon emissions and is quiet enough to speak over the engine at full speed.

Superyacht owners typically use tenders for shore excursions and recreational outings. The Goldfish eFusion 23 allows boaters to pursue recreational pursuits and travel into sensitive, zero-emission marine zones. Earlier this month, Goldfish’s engineers waterskied behind the eFusion for 30 minutes — a first for the electric boating industry.
To recharge the batteries, the boat can be plugged into power supplies on the dock or on a yacht. Corvus’ battery packs have the capacity to fully recharge in 30 minutes with a high-power source.
Goldfish unveiled the boat at the Monaco Yacht Show in late September. A rollout date for production eFusion models and pricing has not been released.
