NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guidepost Solutions announced today the appointment of Kenneth V. Handal to lead the expansion of its Governance, Risk, and Compliance practice. Mr. Handal, who has an extensive compliance and legal background in both the private sector and as a federal prosecutor, serves as President of the practice group, which has grown significantly advising clients confronting a new generation of regulatory, legal and market challenges.

Kenneth V. Handal was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Criminal Division. He was later a partner at Arnold & Porter, where he primarily practiced in the areas of white collar criminal defense and civil litigation.
Mr. Handal’s in-house work began as Associate General Counsel and compliance counsel for Altria, then the parent company of Philip Morris, Kraft Foods and Miller Beer. He then went on to hold senior positions at CA Technologies beginning as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary, and later as Executive Vice President for Global Risk & Compliance, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Handal was the first head of the Global Risk & Compliance department at CA, one of the first initiatives to integrate governance, risk and compliance at a major corporation. He also developed employee and Board training and education programs in these areas.
The practice also utilizes Mr. Handal’s adjunct capabilities, including acting as a monitor or receiver, internal investigations and white collar criminal work, and advising directors and general counsel.
