PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The world famous Harlem Globetrotters have hired Michelle Henning as the team’s new vice president, partnership marketing and sales.
Henning will focus her efforts on new business development and sales, while also working with the team’s current partners – Howard Johnson Hotels, Greyhound Lines, Spalding, and Russell Athletic – and future partners to ensure maximum ROI and fulfillment of marketing objectives. She will work out of the New York City area and report to Senior Vice President of Partnership Marketing and Sales Peter LaPointe.
A 10-year veteran of sponsorship sales, Henning spent the past three years at The Times Square Alliance, developing their sponsorship program for such notable events as the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, Broadway on Broadway, Taste of Times Square, and Summer Solstice in Times Square. Her clients included Coca-Cola, Jet Blue, Maybelline, Carnival Cruise Lines, Pepsi, Friendship Dairies and Zales. She oversaw the funding of several events, public art projects, and the Times Square Visitor Center & Museum.

Prior to her time at The Times Square Alliance, Henning worked for a division of WPP as the senior account manager of several key airline partners, including British Airways, KLM, Air France and Japan Airlines. She was the international liaison with the U.S. office and key in developing new business relationships with the world's leading airlines. From 2006-2009, she owned and operated Amaranth Entertainment, LLC, whose clients included Air Canada, Private Air and Cara. Henning is a native of Omaha, Neb., and a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
