SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RS Investments, a San Francisco-based investment management firm, today announced the addition of two experienced equity analysts, Andy Walker, CFA, and Paul Hamilos, CFA, to the RS Value Team.
“The RS Value investment process is similar to a private equity investment approach, both in terms of our focus on company-specific value creation and our longer term investment horizon,” said MacKenzie Davis, a co-portfolio manager and one of 16 members of the RS Value Team. “Andy and Paul bring solid experience and deep knowledge of the sectors and businesses they cover, coupled with the intellectual honesty and rigor demanded by our highly disciplined investment process. They fit well within our culture and we are delighted to welcome Andy and Paul to RS.”
Mr. Walker joins RS Investments with more than 15 years of investment experience. He will focus on industrial and power companies as part of the firm’s Hard Assets coverage. Until recently, Mr. Walker was a senior research analyst at Janus Capital Group for ten years where he analyzed businesses within the industrial and power sectors. Walker attended Yale University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Hamilos, who brings 10 years of experience to his position, will analyze businesses within the financial services sector. Prior to joining RS Investments, Mr. Hamilos was vice president of the Principal Transaction team at Macquarie Group, with a specific focus on financial institutions. He attended the University of Missouri, and earned his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
The RS Investments Value Team manages five mutual funds with a total of approximately $11 billion in assets under management, including RS Partners Fund (RSPFX), RS Value Fund (RSVAX), RS Investors Fund (RSINX), RS Large Cap Alpha Fund (GPAFX), and RS Global Natural Resources Fund (RSNRX).
