iovation Again Named to Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Device Reputation Leader Ranks No. 45 in the Portland Metro Area and No. 62 in Security Companies

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--iovation, the Device Reputation Authority™ protecting online businesses from fraud and abuse, today announced its inclusion in Inc. magazine’s fifth annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs. Online retailer ideeli tops this year’s list. iovation joins Spirit Airlines, television maker Vizio, Honest Tea, Dunkin Donuts and Metrokane, makers of the Rabbit corkscrew, among other prominent brands featured on this year’s list.

Within the Inc. 5000, iovation ranked #45 of the fastest-growing private companies in the Portland, Ore. Metro area and ranked #62 in U.S. security companies.

The B2B SaaS solution offered by iovation exposes the reputation of devices (such as computers, tablets and smart phones) connecting to online businesses and helps those businesses understand how devices in their network and outside of their network are related. The webs of associations that iovation’s ReputationManager 360 service exposes helps clients efficiently detect and shut down fraud rings before they have a chance to harm their business or customers.

Fraud, abuse and other online crimes (such as credit card fraud, identity theft and account takeovers) are reported by iovation’s finance, retail, gaming and dating clients, and shared with other customers around the globe. The fraud analysts who interact with iovation’s device reputation database are able to leverage millions of reports of cross-industry fraud and abuse.

Industry-leading growth over the last 3 years was required to make the Inc. 5000 list. Most notably with online banks and credit card issuers, iovation has experienced substantial growth in both revenue and in the size of its network. The number of device reputation queries processed by iovation’s fraud protection service has grown 936 percent since 2007, and the number of devices managed in iovation’s database has grown 2,492 percent since 2007.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/5000.

Methodology

The 2011 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2010. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000; the minimum for 2010 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/5000.
