NEXIUM® (esomeprazole magnesium) Launches New Savings Card Offering Instant Discounts for Patients

WILMINGTON, Del.--()--AstraZeneca (NYSE: AZN) today announced a new patient support program for NEXIUM. The NEXIUM Savings Card is designed to offer eligible patients instant discounts on their prescriptions for NEXIUM, potentially saving the patient up to $600 annually.1

When using the NEXIUM Savings Card, eligible patients can instantly save up to $50, with most paying $18 each on up to 12 prescriptions of NEXIUM.* Additionally, eligible patients with no prescription insurance coverage can save $50 instantly.*1

The NEXIUM Savings Card does not require activation or program enrollment.1 After speaking with their health care provider and checking eligibility, patients can obtain the savings card from their doctor, by downloading one from purplepill.com, or by calling 1-800-503-9880, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

*Eligibility: The offer is good for up to $50 off on 12 prescriptions of at least a 30-day supply of NEXIUM. The offer is not valid if your copay is $18 or less. The card must be used within 14 months of the first prescription fill and cannot be combined with any other offer. The offer is void for mail order and for patients covered by Medicaid, Medicare, or similar state or federal programs and is void where prohibited by law, taxed or restricted. The offer is not valid for residents of MA. The card is limited to one per person and is not transferable. The offer is good only in the U.S. and its territories. AstraZeneca reserves the right to discontinue the offer at any time. Important Safety Information about NEXIUM

  • Symptom relief does not rule out the presence of other serious stomach conditions
  • Talk to your doctor about your risk for:
    • bone fractures if you take multiple daily doses of NEXIUM for a long period of time
    • low magnesium levels if you take NEXIUM for a long period of time
  • Tell your doctor about all of the medicines you take including prescription and non-prescription drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements. NEXIUM may affect how other medicines work, and other medicines may affect how NEXIUM works
  • Side effects with NEXIUM include headache, diarrhea, and abdominal pain

Approved Uses for NEXIUM

NEXIUM is prescribed to treat the symptoms of acid reflux disease, which typically include persistent heartburn on 2 or more days per week, despite treatment and change of diet.

For many people, NEXIUM is also prescribed to heal damage to the esophagus called erosive esophagitis. This damage may be caused over time from stomach acid wearing away the lining of the esophagus. Only a doctor can diagnose this condition. With NEXIUM, most erosions heal in 4 to 8 weeks. Your results with NEXIUM may vary.
