SAY Media Expands Corporate Development Efforts With Two New Executive Hires

Global Media Company Grows Executive Team to Build Out Portfolio of Owned and Operated Media Properties

SAN FRANCISCO--()--SAY Media today announced it has appointed David Richter as Chief Strategy Officer and Kourosh Karimkhany as Head of Integration to help scale operations as the company continues to acquire and build vertical media properties across key consumer interest areas, including Style, Home, Food, Tech and Pets.

As Chief Strategy Officer, Richter will work closely with SAY Media’s product, engineering, marketing and sales teams to further develop and implement SAY Media’s strategy for corporate acquisitions and strategic alliances. In addition to corporate and business development, Richter will lead SAY Media’s capital raising efforts.

In his role as Head of Integration, Karimkhany will oversee SAY Media's integration of acquired companies and teams into the company’s operations. He is also responsible for working with the product and editorial teams to craft editorial strategies for acquired companies as well as SAY Media-developed properties.

Richter comes to SAY Media with nearly 20 years of experience as a corporate and business development executive and legal counsel. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, of Sonic Solutions, a leading video-on-demand provider acquired by Rovi (NASDAQ: ROVI) in February 2011. Previously, he was Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, at DivX, Inc., a digital media company acquired by Sonic Solutions in October 2010, where he led its business and corporate development, product and legal teams.

Karimkhany has worked in online media for close to 20 years. In 2009 he cofounded Food Republic Media, a digital media food company based in New York. Before that he served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Conde Nast Digital where he initiated the company's aggressive expansion via acquisitions. During his tenure, Conde Nast acquired Wired.com, Reddit.com and Ars Technica. He also served as general manager of Wired Digital, creating one of the largest male- and technology-focused web properties. Before Conde Nast, Karimkhany was a product manager at Yahoo and helped turn Yahoo News into the largest online news site. Karimkhany started his career as a journalist writing for news organizations including Bloomberg and Reuters.
