MapHook Announces New Features Including Groups, Videos and Links

DULLES, Va.--()--MapHook, the location-based journal app, announced today a line-up of new features to their website and iPhone app, available on iTunes. MapHook already provides users with an organized way to keep track of and find interesting places and things via “hooks” (user generated digital memories) tagged on an interactive map. The map integration also includes the ability to view location-based Wikipedia articles, Groupon deals and Yelp! reviews.

What’s new:

Sharing location-based content and interests just got easier as users now have the ability to manage groups (both public and private). Users can also add YouTube videos and website links to hooks, in addition to searching for hooks by date.

By combining several hooks together, users can create stories that can be shared with family and friends. The share button provides the ability to link hooks to several social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

“Our users are excited about the new features,” said Paul Carter, MapHook CEO. “Within hours of releasing the new version on iTunes, users were setting up groups, adding videos and creating stories. We will continue to enhance existing, as well as add new features. As social networking continues to evolve, it’s important for us to listen to our users, keep our app fresh and offer something of value.”
