Xerox Ranks High on Commitments to Sustainability, Diversity, Governance and Ethics

NORWALK, Conn.--()--During the first half of 2011, Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) received awards and accolades highlighting its leadership in corporate social responsibility. The recognition, including the FTSE4Good Index Series and Ethisphere’s World’s Most Ethical Companies, underscores the company’s commitments in the areas of sustainability, diversity, governance and ethics.

Corporate Social Responsibility

For the fourth consecutive year, Xerox has met the FTSE4Good criteria for corporate responsibility, social and stakeholder engagement, human rights and environmental actions. Created in 2001, the FTSE4Good Index is a series of benchmarks for socially responsible investors who want to measure performance using globally recognized standards.

The Reputation Institute ranked Xerox 38th its 2011 Global RepTrak 100: The World’s Most Reputable Companies list. The study provides an assessment of companies worldwide that are most liked, trusted, and respected. The ranking is made by more than 48,000 consumers across 15 countries. The Reputation Institute measured the reputations of more than 1,000 of the world’s largest companies on criteria such as citizenship, workplace, governance and leadership.

Corporate Responsibility Magazine included Xerox on its annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List. Criteria for the rankings include climate change, employee relations, environment, financial, governance, human rights and philanthropy.

Ethics

Xerox was again named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a leading international think-tank dedicated to best practices in corporate social responsibility. This marks Xerox’s fourth consecutive year on the list, which grades companies on criteria such as innovation, contributing to public well-being and executive leadership.

Sustainability

Xerox was named one of the Top 50 Best Global “Green” Brands by Interbrand in its inaugural ranking. Interbrand, the leading brand consultancy, combined public perception of environmental sustainability with a demonstration of performance based on publically available information and data.

Xerox won the Green IT Awards’ Public Sector Project of the Year for 2011. The award recognized Xerox’s sustainable print project in collaboration with the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions, which has significantly reduced the amount of electricity used by the department.

Xerox’s Webster, N.Y. campus was presented the Environmental Performance Silver Award by the New York Water Environment Association, Genesee Valley Chapter Industrial Issues Committee.

Xerox also received Finning Chile’s Supplier Award 2010 for developing products with a focus on environmental protection, decontamination and energy conservation.

Diversity

Diversity MBA Magazine placed Xerox 8th on their annual list 50 Out Front for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers To Work. The list focuses on corporations that offer the best work environments and opportunities for women and people of color.

The National Association for Female Executives has identified Xerox as a Top Company for Executive Women. Xerox once again appears on this list for its commitment to building a workplace that welcomes different people, different thinking, and different perspectives.

Black Enterprise named Xerox to its annual listing of the 40 Best Companies for Diversity for outperforming peers in one or more of four key categories: supplier diversity, senior management, board involvement and employee base.

Xerox achieved a 100% rating on the 2011 Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The rating evaluates businesses that support equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. Xerox has received a perfect score in four out of four years.

Xerox Spain received the Enterprise Equality award from the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. The company was cited for consistently managing diversity and equality.

Best Place to Work

Computerworld included Xerox Corporation in its list of the 100 Best Places To Work in IT 2011. The list was compiled based on a survey of employee benefits and opportunities, as well as workplace diversity.

The Globe and Mail honored Xerox Canada as one of the Best Employers for New Canadians. Xerox was recognized for its work with various community agencies and support of initiatives that assist new Canadians.

Xerox Greece was listed as the number one company on the Best Workplaces 2011 survey by the Great Place to Work Institute. The annual international survey aims to highlight companies that invest in staff and assess the practices used in their working environment.
