DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/47d0b8/the_italian_online) has announced the addition of the "The Italian Online Gaming & Gambling Market Report" report to their offering.
This report is focused on the Italian Online Gambling Market. The analysis starts with a breakdown of the online market in terms of gross margin and overall turnover for each product. The report then looks at the typical profile of online gamblers, regulatory environment and provides a detailed description of the main players' characteristics. It then includes an analysis of the main online products, such as Skill Games, Bingo and Online Poker. The report provides information on the market value, products typologies, segment features and also looks at business models to support management and inform stakeholders of the key market points.
In line with the forthcoming regulatory changes (i.e. the launch of cash poker and casino games at the end of July 2011), this report shows how online market figures will be affected with and how much worth this will be worth for operators.
In the Italian gambling market, competitors operate through a public license, acquired by attending a call for bids by the "Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato" (AAMS), the Italian Public Gaming Authority. There are two available market channels in which the operators are allowed to distribute their games/services to potential users: physical and online channels.
In the last few years, the Italian gaming market registered steady growth - between 2004 and 2010, the average growth rate was around 17.8% in terms of turnover. 2010 revenues overtook 61 Billion, with a growth rate of 13.0% in 2009, a bit worse than the previous year.
Quite interesting is also the growth rate of online channels, which showed an increase in 2008-2010, of about 300% in terms of margin. Turnover volumes in 2010 reached 4.8 Billion.
A further increase is expected between 2011 and 2013, thanks to the new amendments introduced by the Abruzzo Decree (which includes the launch of online cash games, the introduction of video lotteries, consolidation of V7 as a replacement for Totip and provisions for the launch of Bet Exchange). The margin growth rate on the interactive channel will be further encouraged by the consolidated offer of Poker, Skill games and Bingo, as well as the launch of casino games through the online channel.
The introduction of cash modality for the online channel (together with the Tournament game version, which has already been authorized) will have huge importance for card skill games (particularly Poker and Black-jack), which cover more than the 75% of world demand in the international markets
Other relevant contributions will be provided by the introduction of casino games, which will play a key role along with Poker in the world market, and Betting Exchange, which represents internationally around 8% of total margin generated by sport betting. These changes are set to generate a turnover of about 15 Billion a year in 2010-2013. In terms of Gross Margin, the market will increase over 5.3 Billion during the period.
