Cloud Solutions Entering the Mainstream According to the UK’s Largest Business Software Survey

Over 10,000 business software users decide the Software Satisfaction Awards shortlist

BRISTOL, England--()--Cloud Computing applications are entering the corporate mainstream according to the findings of this year's Software Satisfaction Awards.

The Software Satisfaction Awards (SSAs) are unique in the software industry, with the shortlist and finalists for each award category being determined by the customer satisfaction of real end users.

This year's awards were decided by a record 10,289 responses, making it the largest business software survey conducted in the UK. This year, 70 software companies entered Sift Media's software awards, creating a field of 100 business software applications across 14 categories.

Voters were asked to measure satisfaction in four key business software purchase decision areas: functionality; reliability; ease of use; and value for money.

While the winners will not be announced until October, this year's shortlist of companies is been published today and it's apparent that Cloud applications have found a foothold in nearly all categories, competing against the better established, on-premise solutions.

This year’s awards are run in partnership with Intellect, the UK information technology trade association.

Intellect’s COO, Charles Ward, comments:

“The staggering increase in respondents to this year’s survey is further recognition of the growing importance of the software industry in the UK. The emergence of Cloud based applications demonstrates that the industry is adapting to change and is in tandem with its customers.”

Tom Dunkerley, Managing Director of Sift Media adds:

“The Software Satisfaction Awards recognise providers and resellers that have focused on customer needs to deliver excellent business systems. There’s no better recommendation for the suitability of a software application than the first-hand views of businesses that have already bought and used it.”

The winners will be announced at the award-giving ceremony on Tuesday 18 October 2011, compered by Alastair Campbell at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
