WellDoc Showcases Mobile Health System for Diabetes Care at ADA Annual Scientific Sessions

BALTIMORE--()--WellDoc®, a healthcare company that develops technology solutions to improve chronic disease management outcomes and reduce healthcare costs, will showcase its innovative system for diabetes treatment at the American Diabetes Association Annual Meeting (ADA) in San Diego, Calif., June 24-28. The conference brings together 13,000 of the world’s leading diabetes experts for sessions focused on diabetes treatment and research.

During the conference, WellDoc executives will share final results from a randomized controlled clinical trial of the DiabetesManager® System conducted in partnership with the University of Maryland and CareFirst® BlueCross BlueShield of Maryland. The WellDoc DiabetesManager System is a mobile health (mHealth) solution that helps adult patients with type 2 diabetes effectively manage their disease in cooperation with their healthcare provider and reduce health care costs associated with managing chronic disease. It is the only mobile-based system to be clinically validated and cleared by the FDA for real-time patient coaching and clinical decision support for providers and educators.

There will be a number of presentations occurring during ADA where the results from this clinical trial will be discussed:

  • Saturday, June 25 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. during a scientific session titled “Technology & Behavior Change Across the Lifespan.”

A demonstration of the virtual patient coach and the provider clinical decision support tools will take place, as well as a discussion of mHealth and sample cases will be presented.
